How secure is your Windows?

I was reading through a security related article that referenced Windows Update & prompted to check my PC was updated for all the latest patches or not. I used the Windows Update service the Windows XP provides & scanned for updates. Windows update found 22 in all of them & guess what... all were security related. Ranging from Windows Media Player to IE 6.0 to core OS.

And to think Windows XP was the most secure OS that Microsoft had released. I just cannot imagine what would have happened to Windows 9x/Me operating systems had the crackers been so intent & cracking tools so sophisticated in those days. I really cannot imagine how vulnerable the people who are still running older versions of Windows would be. More so now as Microsoft has withdrawn support to most of the legacy systems.

My advice to all those who are still using legacy Windows & are connecting to the Internet: UPGRADE and that too ASAP.
