Thinking ahead, way ahead....

Talk about think ahead. Virus writers have recently released a virus for 64 bit computing platform as reported on silicon.com. The virus is called as W64.Shruggle by Symantec. What is most astonishing is that there is still not enough software support for the 64 bit computing platform and the virus writers have already started writing virus for it.

Although the virus does not pose any immediate threat to the user community, it is a harbinger of things to come and exposes a very real truth which we may not be ready to accept. Firstly, that once the 64 bit computing platform gains wider support, the viruses will be ready & lurking around the corner & secondly that no matter how hard the virus bashers try, the virus writers will also remain a couple of steps ahead of all of us.
